In late December I visited my friends Mike and Virginia, as I usually do around
the holidays. On Thursday the 29th we visited 3 highly rated breweries
located a little north of Philadelphia, about an hour from where they were living
in Chadds Ford.
Stop #1: Hidden River Brewing. Housed in a building that dates back to 1711, it has a nice interior with two bars and a room in between with many books and a fireplace. They don't do flights but they let us try a few beers before ordering. We got some food and tasted:
Stop #2: Warwick Farm Brewing.
Like the previous place, they don't do flights but let us sample a few before
ordering. We tried:
Stop #3: Imprint Beer Company.
Located in an industrial park, it's a neat place with all the brewing equipment
on display, as well as a food place inside called
Cantina Rabo. Imprint makes thick fruited sours
called schmoojees, served from cans, which are similar to the fruit sours made by
The Answer in Richmond. We got some food, and since Imprint does flights we sampled many
beers:
We bought about a case of hazies and schmoojies before heading home.
